Downtown Comox: Provisions
Comox is the perfect place to stock up on provisions before heading up to Desolation Sound or the Broughton Archipelago. From local beer and spirits, fresh produce, wood-fired bread and a grocery store stocked with everything you need for the boat, you will be struggling to find room for everything on board. ① Fisherman's Wharf
If the timing works in your favour, and assuming you haven’t already filled a cooler with your own catch-of-the-day, you can often find fresh Halibut, Prawns, Lingcod or Salmon at the docks. Sign up for the Comox Harbour Authority email list to get notified of dock sales.
② John’s—Your Independent Grocer
Conveniently located in the nearby Comox Mall, John’s is a destination supermarket for boaters. Pick up all the fresh ingredients you need to make dinner tonight, and find many local Island products on their shelves.
③ Portside Produce Farm Market
Portside Produce sources its vegetables, fruits and flowers through local growers and producers, selling it on the very same day at their market. You can’t miss their colourful displays filled with beautiful fresh produce and flowers.
④ BC Liquor Store
The Comox location of BC Liquor Stores offers one of the largest selections of wine, beer & spirits in the area, and is a great spot to pick up local Vancouver Island wine, cider, beer and spirits.
⑤ New Tradition Brewing
The Savard family has been brewing and distilling for generations. From their great grandfather making gin in his bathtub during prohibition, to their grandfathers and fathers brewing beer for family and friends. Combining old family recipes with newly available hops and other ingredients, New Tradition Brewing aims to take craft beer to the next level.
⑥ Church Street Bakery
From the tangy taste of wood-fired sourdough to the sweet and savoury taste of their specialty loaves, Church Street Bakery is the place for all your bread and baking needs. They carry gluten-free bread, and use organic Canadian flours milled right here in BC.
